A Grand Celebration at Governor’s Square Mall
PLUS a Sneak Preview of the new Dave & Buster’s
After months of hard work, a multi-million dollar renovation is wrapping up and Governor’s Square Mall invites the public to enjoy a Grand Reopening & Veteran’s Day Weekend Celebration on Saturday, November 9. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at the mall’s main entrance at 11 AM. The public is then invited to enjoy a day filled with festivities, including musical entertainment, celebrity look-alikes, food and costume characters from Marvel® comics. It will culminate in a spectacular aerial drone show in the parking lot at 9:15 PM. (A full schedule of events appears below.)
DAVE & BUSTER’S PREVIEW
In addition to all the physical changes, the mall is about to welcome one of America’s favorite names in entertainment. On November 25 Dave & Buster’s will open nearly 35,000 square feet of gaming, food, and entertainment space. Members of the news media are invited to a “sneak-peek” of the new Dave & Buster’s on Friday, November 8. Please gather at 10 AM at the entrance inside the Food Court.
ABOUT THE RENOVATION PROJECT
The multi-million dollar project has been truly transformational. Governor’s Square Mall has always been a popular retail destination for consumers in the region. Now, they will be treated to an experience that is even more beautiful and inviting. The renovation incorporates luxurious new floor, wall and ceiling finishes with advanced lighting systems. New seating and interior décor was selected for a clean, modern look. These changes have resulted in a stunning, elegant new ambience throughout the mall. Beautiful new signage has been designed to help visitors easily navigate the ever-growing list of retail options at Governor’s Square.
The exterior of the complex received similar improvements, along with repaving, new landscaping and an upgraded LED pylon signage on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard. Most notably, the project includes a rebranding of the mall complex, with a completely reconstructed entrance that matches the sophistication inside. Next to that entrance, a striking new art installation has been erected, proudly proclaiming the Tennessee heritage of Governor’s Square. It will prove to be a popular location as a “selfie-scene” for visitors.
Work has begun on two new attractions to the interior of the mall. The Hall of Heroes, will pay tribute to the men and women of our nation’s armed forces who have won America’s highest military decoration: The Medal of Honor. Another interior gallery, the History Hall, will highlight the origins of Clarksville as a center of commerce. The display also chronicles the notable people and places that have shaped Clarksville as a community. Both interior galleries will be expanded over time.
